IF PLUS IS A SIZE..THEN WHY NOT HAVE A MINUS SIZE TOO??

PLUS is a very acceptable word whereas MINUS is a negative word when talking about bank statements, money , etc.

BUT When it comes to fashion, plus size is not a word women like to get associated with.

Being extra small is cool. It's like wearing a badge of honor. Handful brands are calling themselves size inclusive and sell clothes for curvy women in a separate section called plus size women. Do we all in general realize how much toll it takes on women/men mental health, when there is a separate section for them.

No one wants to be seen there. PERIOD.

THESE UNREAL STANDARDS WERE CREATED (god knows why/?) BY US.

Our bodies, sizes , genes etc. to a point s not in our hands.

CHANGING THE BEAUTY STANDARDS IS IN OUR HANDS.

Most of the time it's not a choice people make. There is a-lot of complexities involved.

I am definitely not encouraging obesity. But the confidence is shredded when already struggling with soo many backhand comments, side glances one has to face every day.

A general observation, over the period of time I've had is, curvy women have used humor as a defense mechanism. Very coyly self-deprecating or hiding behind all those jokes.

how is being inclusive of plus size a thing ???

were plus sizes banned? please remind me.

some brands also charge extra for plus size women.

'Do they charge less for extra small sizes'???

NO.

Fashion industry very discreetly turns a blind eye to people of color, sizes, age etc.

It's like women aren't suppose to age , change with time. are we ageless???

After birthing , we all have body image issues. its like with a snap of finger we are expected to go back to our original proportion & shouldn't be reminding the world or even ourselves that we did birth a child.

Some are lucky enough 'if I am allowed to say' to loose that weight easily or with hard work put in.

Either way, we need to let them(women) be. Do not make a deal out of it.

I've heard too many people commenting soo casually 'Ab toh yeh moti ho gayi hai' , 'Ab vajan kam karna mushkil hai'.

These kind of comments are very casually stated with out realizing the impact it has on the receiver.

The x-s models may be pleasing to the eyes for some.. but we all know there are soo many complexities to this too.

Let's not make a big deal about plus size when there aren't any minus sizes.

plus size shouldn't be a thing at all.

How about normalizing and embracing and collectively including everyone.

My journey as a personal stylist has been a very fulfilling one when I know i can bring that confidence back and empowering those women .But some things just boils my blood. This is one of them. When I get clients filled with self doubt. It hurts too much.

This is my humble way of trying to get a little awareness.

LETS BE MORE MINDFUL !
